SomnAbsorb Learning System
The SomnAbsorb Learning System, also known colloquially as a “Brain Dump”, was developed by the Universal Learning Company to allow study of subjects involving a great deal of new terminology, such as languages, and jargon-heavy specialized applications such as advanced topics in medicine and technology. Introduction of new concepts requires alert study time, but reinforcement can take place during sleep.
The proportions of awake and sleeping study time needed to learn depend on the amount of memorization involved- the more rote memorization needed, the more study can take place while sleeping. Learning the basics of a new language, with grammar and syntax rules as well as new vocabulary, takes approximately equal amounts of sleeping and waking study hours. Pure vocabulary can be studied with a 4:1 ratio of sleeping study to waking study, while heavily theoretical topics will require the opposite ratio.
